Aim of this Chess Dictionary project

The goal of this project is to write a dictionary of chess players in the 19th century which would contain:

• Facts about chess players (famous or less famous) and their relatives
• The references to the information provided (providing an information without providing a source for the information is useless)
• The list of sources used to gather the information

This project started in October, 2023 (this web site was created on October 27th, 2023). The plan is:

• To add every week a post with the status of the project
• To complete the list of sources as I read them
• To publish some posts on the methodology used during this work
